Lesson Plan 2 History

 WHAT?

What happened? What went well? What was an area of weakness?

Which objectives were met?  What is the evidence? Give specifics from your formative assessment data. Which students did not meet objectives?  Which students exceeded objectives?  Why?

The students learned about past important historical events that had happened in NY we had selected 11 total events to go over on a timeline. Each student created a timeline of the 11 events we had learned. The students were able to understand the events of the timeline in order by date. In their journals they were asked to recall one historical event and date it as well as explain its importance. They were each able todo so with out any difficulties. The students appeared to have weakness a little bit in the area of cause and effect.

SO WHAT?

What was learned from this experience? Evidence of teacher candidate learning

The students enjoy doing a hands on activity each lesson this time they really enjoyed creating their own timeline and making them has whole group. They also keep asking if they can go on a field trip in our future lesson I think a virtual field trip could be a good idea.

NOW WHAT?

How will this experience influence my professional identity?

How will this experience influence how I plan/teach/assess in the future?

We had incorporated a brain break the students had to kick like the Rockette dancers from NYC we did this for a student that we know has a IEP and trouble sitting still for too long. We have decided todo this half way through our lesson to help him and a allow a break for the students.
